Principal’s Message – 9/20/10

Date: September 19, 2010 Author: admin Categories: Principals Message

Hello BA families.

Now that we are in the swing of things, a few quick reminders:

The morning is our most academic time here at school. Please do your best to have your child to school with a few minutes to spare. Parents who have learned to manage mornings well at home report the following tips:

  • Back up the schedule. To have your child ready to leave for school on time, parents need to revisit dinner time, bath time, and bed time, as well as when to wake up, dress, and eat breakfast.
  • Reward responsibility and independence by using a checklist.
  • Praise successful behaviors; there is no better incentive than the notice of proud parents.

Drop off and pick up are the most challenging times at BA for a safety-minded principal like me. These are issues we need to improve, please:

  • No U-turns in front of the school. They are against the law and very dangerous due to the lack of space for such maneuvers.
  • Walkers at Cordilleras and Belle: please bunch up a bit and cross together so that passing vehicles get a turn as well.
  • Please remind grandparents and other occasional drivers not to leave their vehicles in the drop-off and pick-up lines.

Thanks to all of you for your on-going support and encouragement!
