Weekly Principal’s Message – 08/20/12

Date: August 21, 2012 Author: admin Categories: Principals Message

Hello BA families!

I can’t wait to see all of you next week! There is nothing like a fresh start to make everything seem possible.

The Big Day: August 27

I hope you received Friday’s message full of information about the start of school Monday, August 27, which I will remind you here again is a minimum day: all students attend 8:25-12:25.

Don’t Miss BTSN

After that, the next biggest date to calendar is Back to School Night, Wednesday, August 29—please make plans to come. This one is for parents only; children do not attend. We will have a staggered schedule as follows:

  • 5:30-6:30         TK, K, and K/1 classroom presentations
  • 6:30-7:00         Mr. Triska’s All School Welcome in the MUR
  • 7:00-8:00         1st – 4th classroom presentations

Safety First

Getting to and from school is worth thinking about. I’m sorry to remind you that more than one student in our district was hit by a car last year, and here at BA one of our parents was struck. On the first day of school, your child will bring home a list of “safety rules for commuting,” which I will ask you to review and sign with your children.

Meantime, please obey the BA Volunteer Crossing Guards, and even better, consider joining our elite and storied team. Once or twice a month, 30 minutes—that’s all it takes to be part of the solution. A time that is VERY important is minimum day Wednesdays from 12:15-12:45. If you have time for even once a month, please email Paula at It feels so good to do the right thing! Thanks for considering.

Best wishes, and see you soon!

John Triska
