Principal’s Message 3/11/13

Date: March 11, 2013 Author: kristin Categories: Principals Message

Hello BA families.

Friday the Central Middle School 8th grade Band and Orchestra students performed a beautiful concert for BA’s 4th grades. The maturity, grace, and talent of our former BA students moved me. This annual performance was just one part of the transition to fifth grade at Central that our 4th graders experience each year. It also serves as a “wake up” to our kids that an era in their lives is coming to an end—and a new one is opening before them.

Wednesday morning at 8:45, at our Principal’s Coffee in the MU, parents of BA 4th graders are invited to meet CMS Principal Steve Kaufman, Assistant Principal Marie Crawford, and School Counselor Julie Jobak. They will share more about the transition, and the ways CMS will serve our outgoing 4th graders in the fall.

In the near future, BA will convert into a pre-K to 3rd grade school, and our students will transition to a new 4/5 “bridge school” on the CMS campus. This is all part of our district’s strategic plan to better meet the needs of students, and to support their success in our rapidly changing world. In this message in the coming weeks I will share more about plans for the new 4/5 schools at CMS and Tierra Linda. In the meantime, interested parents are invited to attend PTA, School Site Council, and School Board Meetings, where updates on facilities planning are regularly on our agendas.

Best wishes,
John Triska
