Heartfelt Thanks
All of us on staff at Brittan Acres wish to express our thanks for the many tokens of appreciation we received during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, from cards, flowers, and goodies in the staff room, to the PTA’s amazing Appreciation Luncheon at La Tosca. We want you to know that we appreciate you! Thank you for all the ways you support your children, our school, and all of us.

Creating Classes: Planning Next Year’s Learning Communities
In a few weeks, our staff will begin working to build balanced classrooms of children who will next year develop into functioning learning communities.

As I do each year, I ask for your trust and confidence that—aimed at the success of all– we will make the best placements possible for our students. To answer a question I’ve been asked more than a few times: we will have one split-grade level classroom next year in grades 2/3. Despite worries parents share with me each year about split-grade placements, these unique classrooms work exceptionally well at Brittan Acres. This year, like last, both children and their parents enjoyed being part of our split-grade level communities.

To allow our process to succeed, I ask that parents refrain from requests for specific teachers. Of course, if there is something unique about your child’s situation that this year’s classroom teacher should know, please do share that with them at this time.

Best wishes,
John Triska
