Principal’s Message 11/03/14

Date: October 30, 2014 Author: admin Categories: Principals Message

Dear BA Families,

Wednesday, November 5 is SCEF Day. At drop-off, you will see me, our teachers and our PTA Board all wearing green to show our spirit and support of our wonderful San Carlos Education Foundation. We are encouraging all BA students to wear green on Wednesday.

Last year, this amazing BA community obliterated past records for participation, nearing Walk A Jog participation rates! Also remarkably, BA families set a new record for the amount they donated to SCEF. District wide, SCEF raised over $2.4 million last year to benefit all 7 San Carlos public schools. NICE WORK, TEAM!

Again this year, I ask you to participate in this fundraiser that brings over $300,000 to Brittan Acres– by giving to the San Carlos Education Foundation. Please consider making a donation to SCEF. Look for a flyer and envelope coming home in your childrens’ backpacks today.

The SCEF “ask” is $1000 per student, but any gift from you is deeply appreciated. You can easily donate online at, drop off your donation to one of our many SCEF Day volunteers on November 5, or bring it in to the BA office anytime.

At BA, we are committed to providing an engaging, 21st century learning experience for our children. We can’t do it without your help. SCEF supports:

  • Technology Associate, Ms. O’Connell
  • PE Instructors Ms. Cindy and Legarza Coaches
  • Friendship Counselor, Ms. Arasato
  • Librarian Ms. Drach
  • Music Teachers Ms. Amy and Ms. Ariel
  • Literacy Associates Ms. Strauss and Ms. Maynard
  • Hands-On Science Program’s behind-the-scenes teacher support
  • Classroom Technology including iPads, Chromebooks, Document Cameras and Projectors
  • Classroom Field Trips for boundless learning
  • Professional Development for teachers and staff

Thank you for all the ways you participate in your children’s education. With your support, BA will continue to improve as we implement 21st century learning for our students. As the SCEF logo reminds us, “We’re all in this together.”

Best wishes,

John Triska
