Have you considered 4H?

Date: September 11, 2015 Author: Michelle Marchena Curtis Categories: Community Partner News

Have you considered 4H? 4H offers many opportunities to youth from Kindergarten through High School (5 to 19 years of age.) 4H clubs take on service projects, offer workshops in many areas (listed below), and do things just for fun (cookie judging, bingo, and more). 4H operates at the club, county, state and national levels. After several years of 4H in our area, a child may have friends all over San Mateo County.

The first meeting of the San Carlos/Eaton Hills 4H club will be at 7 PM, Tuesday, September 15th at Clifford School in Redwood City (meetings are third Tuesdays and last about an hour). You are welcome to attend this meeting, and there is no obligation to continue. If you decide to join, the registration fee is $62, and there may be fees to cover supplies for specific projects. 4H requires regular parent participation (it is not a drop-off program). Much more information about the club can found on our web site:

Some of the projects the San Carlos/Eaton Hills 4H club offers are (this list varies depending upon members’ interests and the availability of leaders):  Auto Mechanics, Backpacking, Beekeeping, Beginning 4-H, Cooking, Chickens, Demonstrations (Public Speaking), Goats, Knitting, Leadership, Lambs, Pigs, Poultry, Rabbits, SET, Sewing, Shooting Sports, and Wood Working
