Principal’s Message 9/28/2015

Date: October 15, 2015 Author: Michelle Marchena Curtis Categories: Featured, Principals Message

Hello BA families.

This week, three important communications:

  1. BA’s amazing volunteer Crossing Guards need you! We have a wonderful wave of walkers who need support crossing the intersection of Cordilleras and Belle. Before we began this safety program, our students and families reported many close calls including bumpers and baby buggies– two nouns that don’t belong in the same clause, let alone in the same intersection. Can you serve during Early Release Wednesdays from 12:15-12:45? It’s just 30 minutes, but it might be enough to save us from catastrophe. Please let me know!
  2. Come learn about the new Smarter Balanced Assessment results 8:30-9:30 this Friday in the MU— how to interpret your own 4th grader’s test results from last year, BA’s performance in general, or our District’s performance overall. Director of Technology and Instruction Dr. Tom Keating and I will share information and answer questions. Coffee and delicious treats will be provided by our PTA.
  3. Tuesday – Thursday this week I’ll be attending the EdLeader21 Conference in Houston, learning ways to improve BA and our district from educational leaders from around the world. I look forward to sharing that with you when I return! While I’m gone, please welcome back Michele Francesconi, former BA Principal and current CMS teacher who’s graciously offered to cover BA in my absence. Introduce yourselves, and please don’t hesitate to ask her for help, if you need it, while I’m away

Best wishes,

John Triska
