Principal’s Message 2/8/2016

Date: February 8, 2016 Author: Michelle Marchena Curtis Categories: Featured, Principals Message

Hello BA families.

Happy Lunar New Year!

A wonderful characteristic of the San Francisco Bay Area is our multiculturalism– with so many reasons to celebrate. Today’s new moon kicks off 15 days of traditions, ending on the full moon, with a big message of farewell to Winter, and welcome Spring.

Here at BA we are engaged in our annual Read-A-Thon, a FUN-raiser that will culminate, if students work to make it happen, in a mystery visit from a literary celebrity. Our contest began Friday, at our Celebration of Reading Festival, and concludes February 14.

Speaking of celebrating literacy, I hope your students told you about our amazing visiting storyteller, Diane Ferlatte, who kicked off our celebrations on Friday with a rousing performance that students and teachers pronounced the best assembly we’ve ever had. Thank you to our wonderful PTA team for bringing Diane to BA!

My next message will come Monday, February 22. Enjoy the glorious weather this week, and then Presidents Week off!
