BA Welcome Day – NEW!
Sunday, August 20th from 4:00-6:00pm
New this year…. We hope you’ll join us as we welcome back students for the new school year! Come new and returning families to reconnect with friends, find your classroom and explore the campus. You’ll have an opportunity to sign-up for B.U.G.S., Art in Action, MakerSpace and other school activities. We hope you’ll bring the whole family to enjoy fun and the community!
We hope you will JOIN THE TEAM this year! Brittan Acres offers a wide variety of student programs and events. There are many opportunities for families to participate. If your family volunteered just 15 hours per year, you can help ensure that every student in our school gets to enjoy the full breadth of activites we have to offer.

Fun community event to help kick off a great year at BA. Come and meet new friends and families at BA’s upper playground. Great food, great music, great company!

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and the day most of our students look forward to the most! Kids are encouraged to walk or jog the laps on the upper playground while playing games and having great food — all to celebrate and raise funds for the BA PTA. Come celebrate Halloween with a school-wide parade around the upper playground. Parade begins at 8:40, right after drop-off. Parents and family members are welcome to watch and wave! After the parade, stop by to view the “spooktacular” Pumpkin Decorating Contest entries in the MU.
Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest
Nothing says “Halloween” like the long standing tradition of the Brittan Acres annual Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest. Join your teachers, classmates and even some parents and BA alumni entrants too! Children are asked to create masterpieces of their very own from a real pumpkin! There is a separate category for adults/alumni who can’t resist the urge to carve and/or create in fine Halloween tradition.

Please note that ALL children entering the contest will receive a prize.
Special awards will be given in each grade level (TK-3) for the following categories: Funniest, Scariest, Biggest, Smallest, Most Original, Best Dressed, and Judges Award. Awards will also be given to Adults for the same categories.

We transform Brittan Acres multi-use room into a Holiday Boutique, filled with gifts entirely made and assembled by B.A. families! Our Brittan Acres students are encouraged to check off their holiday shopping list, while purchasing these lovingly crafted gifts that are all priced from $1-$5. The students shop with the assistance of a big kid helper instead of with their parents, allowing each child to work within a budget and to keep their gifts a surprise. Parents and siblings will be invited to wait in our Bruin Cafe where delicious homemade treats and drinks will be sold, as well as a Book Fair will be set up to shop while you wait.
There will also be a smaller pre-sale on Friday, December 8, 2017 for those students who cannot come on Saturday. We encourage kindergartners, transitional-kindergartners and BA preschool students to attend our pre-sale, as parents can shop with them, and the crowds are much smaller.
There are many ways we could use your help:
- Makes some gifts. We have pre-assembled boxes with every supply and instruction necessary to make some of our favorite Boutique gifts at home.
- Join other B.A. parents at a gift assembly party
- Volunteer at our pre-sale or main sale- we need lots of help!
- Sign up your B.A. alumni child(ren) to be a big kid helper for our students on the day of the main sale.
- Bake some treats to be sold at our Bruin Cafe

Come join the fun at Movie Night. Bring blankets or pillows for the kids. We will supply the popcorn! Please note one adult must stay this is not a drop off event.
Celebrate Reading Book Fair:
February 12th-15th, 2018
The library is transformed into a bookstore for students and families to purchase books! We will also have a Family Night on Thursday, February 15th from 5pm-7:30pm with guest readers, food trucks and activities for the whole family!
Read-A-Thon – February 16th to 25th, 2018
Every February the BA PTA sponsors a Read-A-Thon to encourage our students to make reading part of their daily lives.
How does it work? Each student records the number of minutes they read each day in order to meet a school-wide challenge and to win a special recess for their class. At the end of the Read-A-Thon a special literary character will visit the school to celebrate the kids’ success if they reach the 100,000 minute goal.

Clean Up Day:
